Apple’s iPad might be enjoying plenty of publicity at the moment, but that doesn’t mean that Amazon is just going to let its eBook crown be snatched away just like that. Reports are in that Amazon is planning to introduce a new version of its popular eBook reader in August, one that is thinner, boasts better contrast and offers faster page turning. The downside is that it will not be a touchscreen device, nor will it offer color. While this device might lack a color touchscreen display, we still have high hopes for a Kindle that will offer such features in the future, especially since Amazon has acquired the company Touchco back in February, a company that specializes in color touchscreen technology. Are you looking forward to a new Kindle device from Amazon, or are you already sold on Apple’s iPad?
