Official Twitter App For Android 2.1 Released

Twitter junkies out there who are running an Android-powered phone should be overjoyed to hear that the social networking company has finally released its official Twitter application for Google’s Android OS. Amidst all that good news, there is some bad news, which is the fact that the application only works on Android 2.1, which means that based on what’s in the market, more or less only the Motorola Droid, Google Nexus One and the HTC Incredible will support it, leaving users who are running older versions of Android, such as Android 1.6, praying hard that an update is around the corner. Considering social networks try to get as much exposure as possible, it’s slightly strange to see the application only support Android 2.1, but let’s see how it works out in the long run.
