Samsung Messager Touch to arrive via US Cellular

US Cellular subscribers will benefit from a new touchscreen-enabled message-centric handset known as the Samsung Messager Touch – otherwise better know by its model number SCH-r630 if that is your cup of tea. What do you get in this handset? Well, a 2.6″ touchscreen display equipped with the TouchWiz user interface ought to get the ball rolling, while those who are not so comfortable with a virtual keyboard can always rely on the horizontal sliding QWERTY keyboard. Don’t expect to capture top class images with this though since it only comes with a 2-megapixel camera, although it does video recording as well. Other features include Bluetooth connectivity, voice recognition (for selected commands), speakerphone capability and a battery that supposedly lasts up to 5 hours of talk time. You can pick it up for $49.95 after a mail-in rebate and a 2-year contract – sounds good? It is a decent mid-range phone if you aren’t looking for an ever increasing amount of apps to download, but for those who want more interactivity as well as functions, it would be better to fall back on higher end handsets.
