RFID technology always seems to be able to turn boring things into something that’s quite interesting. Now a group from Norway has taken the technology and come up with the Skal media player. The Skal (Norwegian for ‘bowl’) is just a simple wooden container that can read devices with an embedded RFID chip. As can be seen in the video (after the jump), all you need to do is just drop an object into the container, and related information will be shown on the screen. So if a child wants information on one of her toy dolls, she can just place it in the Skal, and see what appears on the TV. A fun way to learn, isn’t it?
