Sprint And Walmart Introduce Common Cents Mobile With Round Down Minutes

Sprint and Walmart have announced their latest partnership which has spawned a new low-cost carrier – Common Cents Mobile. It will be going live on May 15th and feature exclusively in over 700 Walmarts across the country. One of the major selling points of this carrier will be its round down method of billing. So if your call lasted for 1 minute and 46 seconds, you’re only billed for that minute, priced at 7 cents, the same price as a text message or email message. However if you’re addicted to text messaging, you can still go for the $20 unlimited messaging package. Data is charged at $1/MB, which isn’t the cheapest deal in town, but would be still an option for folks who browse the Mobile Web once in a blue moon. Being a low-cost carrier, it doesn’t offer those fancy phones that you’re accustomed to, as the most expensive device is the Kyocera S2300 that’s going for $69.77, but would the prospect of having your call minutes rounded down be appealing to you?
