Standard Charted Allows Users To Switch From BlackBerry To iPhone

In what is certainly disappointing news for RIM, British Bank Standard Charted has allowed its workers to switch over from the BlackBerry to the iPhone, as the bank is in the midst of converting its global email system and is even offering to cover the iPhone service costs of staff that need a smartphone for work. This is one of the largest corporate expansions to support Apple’s iPhone, and will certainly delight the folks over at Apple. While the iPhone supports push email like the BlackBerry, many companies are often concerned over its security, which still trails the BlackBerry, not to mention having to manage apps through iTunes servers. Of course, the recent number of email outages by RIM can’t have helped this case either, not to mention the increasing popularity of the iPhone. Is your company forcing you to use a BlackBerry or iPhone? How do you feel about it?
