Teclast adds yet another “headache” to those who want to pick up an e-book reader, or e-reader, depending on what you want to call it. Well, their offering this time round would be the K5, where the number 5 denotes the 5″ color LCD display. Since it uses LCD technology instead of e-ink, you can be sure that battery life will be adversely affected, although it will be a whole lot more readable especially in low light conditions where e-ink is literally unreadable unless you have an external light source. Apart from being useful to read color e-books as well as comics, we do hope that the content delivery system for the Teclast K5 is worth looking into, otherwise it would be a shame to see reasonably good hardware being wasted. Nice to know it plays nice with MP3 and FLAC audio file formats as well. No idea on pricing, but expect to see this hit China in a few days’ time, while keeping your fingers crossed that the FCC will approve of it.
