Ubuntu Netbook Edition 10.10 might ditch Firefox for Chrome

We have word that Ubuntu Netbook Edition 10.10 might not feature Firefox as the browser of choice, and will instead offer Google’s Chromium as the default Internet browser. This move will certainly raise eyebrows, considering that Firefox has long been the default web browser for Ubuntu for a long time already, not to mention on a large number of Linux-based operating systems. While the change has yet to be finalized, expect test versions of Ubuntu Netbook Remix with Chromium to be introduced before a final decision is made as the operating system is officially released this October.
