Word is going around that there is a shortage of Verizon’s highly-anticipated Droid Incredible. Apparently the reason behind the shortage is due to the lack of key components such as the WVGA capacitive display that is manufactured by Samsung. Thanks to this, entire shipments of the Droid Incredible are selling out within hours of their arrival at retail stores, since there obviously aren’t too many of these to go around. Verizon CEO Lowell McAdam believes that if it weren’t for the shortage, the Incredible would have outsold its predecessor, the Motorola Droid. The figures are pretty impressive, as a good 100,000 units of the Incredible were sold in the first two days of it going on sale. Verizon’s website currently claims that the orders for the Droid Incredible will be fulfilled by June 3rd, so hopefully the wait won’t be too painful.
