Asus Eee PC 1201PN hits pre-order status Stateside

Asus’ latest Eee PC 1201PN netbook is currently available for pre-order Stateside, where it will retail for a dollar shy of $500 with it estimated to arrive this coming June 11th. What do you get out of the 1201PN? Expect it to be just like any other usual netbook, including a 12.1” 1,366 x 768 resolution display, an Intel Atom N450 processor, Nvidia ION 2 graphics (that ought to keep those who want a spot of gaming and video playback happy), 2GB RAM, a 250GB hard drive, HDMI out, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, a 0.3-megapixel webcam, a 6-cell 47Wh battery (6 hours) and Windows 7 Home Premium as the operating system of choice. Here’s a question to ponder – will it ship with Nvidia Optimus or not?
