Asus Eee PC 1201PN starts to ship Stateside

Asus’ latest Eee PC 1201PN netbook has started to ship at Amazon.com, where you can choose from either black or red colors, with either model going for $484 apiece. The silver model is still on pre-order though, so those who want a slightly more stately color will just have to wait until there is sufficient stock to ship out. It is notable that the 1201PN will be powered by NVIDIA’s ION chipset that brings a higher level of performance graphically despite running on a mere Atom N450 1.66GHz processor. Unfortunately, it is widely tipped that this model will lack Optimus technology, but the other specifications are slightly on the higher end side of things where netbooks are concerned including 2GB RAM, a 250GB hard drive, HDMI connectivity, Wi-Fi N connectivity and a VGA webcam. The display size also pushes the definition of netbook boundaries, sporting a 12.1″ display at 1,366 x 768 resolution. Have you placed an order for yours already?
