The folks over in Japan are serious about going eco-friendly, and now Coca-Cola has launched its newest machine, the Ecoru/Solar, which is a vending machine that is powered by the solar panels at the top of it. The Coca-Cola company is installing 1,500 units of it around the country, and it’ll use energy-efficient LED lighting, along with a heat pump, HFC-free refrigeration and vacuum installation. Fuji Electric is also another company that is busy working on an eco vending machine which will be powered by solar energy. The strange thing is that the Fuji Electric machine is planning to keep itself insulated in the winter by having what seems to be grass growing on its side.
