Google Chrome on all platforms receives video codec

Google recently started to release its initial developer versions of Chrome with the WebM video codec built-in for Chrome on all platforms, where this open codec will play nice with HTML5 video on Linux, Macs and Windows PCs. Some of the key bug fixes include coming out of sleep and, the option of using the Tab key to cycle through only form fields or links on a Mac computer. This new format is touted to usher in a more universal and potentially less legally complicated alternative to H.264 or Ogg Theora, since the other two require a license or are not as likely to be implemented across multiple platforms.
