HTC Scorpion finish off competitors with Verizon Wireless

War is declared on the smartphone front with whispers of the new and upcoming HTC Scorpion ready to wear the colors of Verizon Wireless, ready to unleash Android 2.2 upon its unboxing, not to mention a speedy 1.5GHz processor that ought to make it much faster compared to all the other Android-powered devices in the market at the moment. Although previous reports did point towards WiMAX support on the Scorpion, Verizon is a viable option since they themselves are pushing for its 4G network that’s based on Long-Term Evolution. Of course, there is a little potential snafu where Verizon doesn’t expect to see 4G handsets until the middle of 2011, so the Scorpion could very well be 3G-only if released before that.
