Holographic storage could be the future as we start to run out of data storage spce in this High Definition adge, with Storex Technologies rolling out its Hyper CD technology that is touted to produce a 1PB (petabyte) optical disk. No idea on where or how they arrived at such a figure, but if this technology could perform as stated, then we could rest easy with the massive amounts of data that even the regular consumer, er, consumes, being saved without having to go through multiple hard drives and optical discs. Bear in mind that this is still in its infant stages, so don’t expect a working solutionn to hit the market anytime soon.
