iHome iP49 portable speaker system targets iPhones and iPods

The iHome iP49 portable speaker system is yet another iPhone and iPod peripheral which is highly portable, since it can be folded for travel in a jiffy. Despite being slim, it can produce 20W of output courtesy of a quartet of neodymium compression drivers. The inclusion of equalizer controls also help improve bass, treble or simulated 3D effects, while clock functions lets you set separate weekday and weekend alarms for the busy executive. It is also nice that there is a gradual wake option, which means you won’t be rudely jolted away without having a second chance at the alarm. Depending on your preference, you can choose to wake up from your iPod playlist or FM radio. The iHome iP49 is going for $160 a pop, although we would have liked to see it come in a variety of colors.
