Computex 2010 is where Telegent Systems and Innocomm decided to roll out the first 3.5G touchscreen smartphone with mobile TV technology into the market, known as the Innocomm Shark. It is doubtful that this device will be able to devour all the other competition out there, but at least it can smell blood with a 3.2″ WVGA (800 x 480 resolution) display sporting capacitive touchscreen capability, an 8-megapixel autofocus camera, 3.5G connectivity, Wi-Fi support and analog TV. Specially designed to target those who want the full touchscreen experience without breaking the bank, the Innocomm Shark is equipped with Telegent’s free-to-air mobile TV technology, letting you access the same free-to-air television programming that they view on conventional TV sets without missing a beat. Running on the Android operating system, this handset can even record TV clips to a microSD card for posterity. Innocomm hopes to roll out models with digital TV capability in the near future. No idea on its price or whether it will ever make it Stateside, but mobile analog TV doesn’t seem that hot at all – after all, we’re sure that you can keep yourself entertained with your choice of media or games instead of being subject to a station’s programming schedule.
