It isn’t even three months since the Microsoft KIN phones were announced, and now we have official confirmation that this line of cloud phones will be killed off in the manner where it will not be released in Europe, considering how poor sales in the US via Verizon has been to date. Woe to folks who picked up a KIN with the reduced price in the last few days, and chances are pretty good we can kiss goodbye to the rumored Kin software update that is touted to be released this summer, eh? Microsoft looks as though they prefer to hedge their bets on Windows Phone 7 which is slated to hit handsets later this year. Hopefully a descendant of the KIN user log will live on and make its way to the next version of Windows Phone 7. RIP KIN, we hardly knew thee. Has the next of kin (pun intended) been informed?
