NBA players need not worry for their day job just yet, even though Matthias Paul Scholz managed to come up with a basketball-playing LEGO Robot known as NXTitzk. Why NXTitzk? It is the same name that is based on a German NBA player. It will see action in two modes – user controlled mode or in a fully autonomous mode. There is a built-in ultrasonic sensor which can be used to judge on how far the basket is, enabling it to perform the correct throw. This seems to be a pretty good weekend project, so if you’re interested, the instructions can be found here. At least it beats being passively entertained by the TV.
