Seagate Announces Its 3TB FreeAgent GoFlex Desk External Drive

Folks who are forever running out of hard drive space will be glad to hear that Seagate has just announced its 3TB FreeAgent GoFlex Desk drive, which packs a single 3TB hard drive inside, and is huge enough to store about 120HD movies. Aside from its massive capacity, the drive sports USB 2.0 support, but can be upgraded to support the faster speeds of FireWire 800 or USB 3.0 via external adapters from Seagate. This drive is compatible with both Windows and Mac machines, and Seagate has thrown in an NTFS driver to allow Macs to read and write to a Windows-formatted version of this drive, if the user isn’t willing to reformat it to the Mac’s HFS+ file system. If you decide to go for this, Seagate is asking for $250 for it, and the cables to add additional interfaces will set you back from $20 to $50. Do you think a 3TB drive will be enough to help you store all your data?
