SkypeKit gives developers new impetus for Skype integration

Skype has just launched a new collection of software and APIs dubbed SkypeKit, giving developers the chance to integrate Skype video and audio chat into just about any capable Web-connected device while sporting their own custom interface. The SkypeKit was also designed to play nice with a wide variety of chipsets, operating systems, and audio/video devices. It is more or less a “headless” version of Skype, running in the background without any user display, which in turn offers developers the chance to deliver Skype functionality through their own products’ interfaces.
