Sonos just teased us with their Sonos Controller for iPad that will see it share many similarities with the original iPhone app, although it will is smart enough to take advantage of the additional viewing real estate to display more information simultaneously. It doesn’t matter how you hold the iPad – the Sonos Controller for iPad will still display the navigation menu and the currently playing track while sporting a set of dedicated playback controls. Depending on the view, however, it can display the number of active rooms and existing song queue on a given player. With its always-on playback controls, you can globally alter the volume level or on an individual device basis. The Sonos Controller for iPad will play nice with the ZonePlayer S5, Speaker Bundle 250 and every other Sonos system released to date. It is expected for a finished and polished version to be released sometime this August without costing you a penny – that means free!
