Sony Reader Library program unveiled

Sony has just announced a new initiative to support the work of public libraries with their Reader Library program which will in turn expand and promote Sony’s eBook collections. This program will offer public libraries training on digital reading devices as well as educational materials to help readers learn more about eBooks and digital texts that are currently available via one’s local library, alongside digital reading devices for library staff to use. This new Reader Library program is open to public libraries with robust eBook lending programs, where among the program components include a training program for library staff developed by Sony, Sony’s Reader digital reading devices and bi-annual update sessions to make sure libraries and their staff are kept abreast with the latest developments in digital reading content, format and devices. Anyone wants to sign up to be a librarian to jump aboard the eBook bandwagon in their line of duty? [Press Release]
