Sprint Encountering More HTC EVO 4G Shortages

Word is out that Sprint is reportedly facing shortages of its popular HTC EVO 4G handset in many markets. According to CEO Dan Hesse, both Sprint and HTC suggest that inventory has been depleted due to stronger-than-expected demand, and not because of issues with component supplies. While this is good news for Sprint, hopefully the carrier and HTC will be able to continue churning out this 4G phone as a brisk pace to appease customers. HTC: High Tech Computer Corporation (HTC) is a Taiwanese manufacturer of smartphones and tablets. The company started as an ODM (Original Design Manufacturer) that was building devices for others, but went on making HTC-branded smartphones based mostly on Microsoft's Windows operating system (OS) for mobile. In 2009, it began to shift its core focus away from Windows mobile devices to Android-based ones. In 2010 the company went back to the Windows Phone eco-system.

Sprint: Sprint is one of the major wireless carriers in the USA. It uses a mix of CDMA, WiMax and LTE Networks as the backbone of its infrastructure. The company's network is also used by third parties and mobile virtual operators like Boost Mobile, Virgin Mobile, and Assurance Wireless. Sprint has about 55M subscribers.
