Vizio Offers New Wi-Fi Routers, Blu-ray players, And Soundbars

Vizio has announced quite a few new devices today, with the first being its XWR100, which performs its usual dual-band Wi-Fi N functions, but is also able to prioritize its network traffic for time-sensitive audio and video streaming usage. It offers four 100Mbps network ports for local networking, and an additional USB port to connect network-attached storage devices. The XWR100 will be shipping in the summer for $100.

Three Blu-ray players were also announced, which includes the dual-band 802.11n VBR231, priced at $220 and is due next month. It supports the common Blu-ray features, such as Dolby TrueHD and DTS HD audio decoding, along with a USB port to let you load photos and MP3 files directly from a flash drive. Video and audio streaming are also provided via Netflix, Vudu and Pandora. The VBR210 and VBR220, both of which are priced at $190, offer the same features, but offer single-band 802.11n Wi-Fi instead.

Finally, there are also two soundbars, the 2.1-channel VHT210 and the 5.1-channel VHT510. Both are designed for tight spaces and have a wireless subwoofer to provide bass. The former fits well under a 32-inch or larger TV, while the VHT510 is suitable for TVs that are 40-inches or larger. Both subwoofers are due in the summer for $300 and $400 respectively.
