Western Digital 1TB My Book AV DVR expander

Western Digital has just increased their My Book family with the latest member, coming in the form of the 1TB My Book AV DVR expander. For those who are not in the know, this device is perfect for those who have plenty of TV shows to catch up on but do not have the time to do so the moment the show is broadcasted, hence having to record everything on another hard drive. It has been TiVo Verified compatible with TiVo Series3 and TiVo HD DVRs, and can store up to 120 hours of high-definition (HD) TV programming. You can opt to hook it up via USB and eSATA, as it has been tested to play nice with Dish Network and DirecTV DVRs asw well. This AV-optimized drive was specially engineered for 24-by-7 operation, offering smooth video recording and playback with SilkStream technology, although that is only available through an eSATA connection. Western Digital has not forgotten its corporate responsibility either, being environmentally friendly by incorporating WD GreenPower Technology and optimizing it for the demands of writing video even in high temperatures. Each $149.99 purchase comes with a 2-year limited warranty. With the World Cup well past its halfway mark in terms of matches, you might just want to consider getting this to capture the latter stages for posterity. [Press Release]
