We’ve heard of the Augen tablet coming from Kmart, and here is news on another device from the folks at Augen – the Genbook 74, which is a $99 device, making it one of the cheapest netbooks around at the moment. It will also be sold at Kmart, offering cookie cutter specifications that seem to hail from three years ago. We’re talking about a relatively tiny 7″ display, a 400MHz processor that should plod along, 128MB RAM and Android 1.6 – can’t they throw in a faster version of the Android OS instead to keep up with the times? Guess you can’t complain too much considering the price point. It also won’t play nice with the Android Market, as none of the apps purchased from there can be installed. Image from Engadget.
