
The long-rumored BlackBerry tablet may actually have a name now. According to a web address lookup, Research in Motion now owns the domain name for BlackPad.com. Though details are not yet available, it doesn’t look like RIM acquired the domain name from a cybersquatter through the use of trademark, so it seems that money may have traded hands. Whether Research in Motion will actually keep the BlackPad name for a tablet launch or use it purely as code name for the project that it is working on, the domain is valuable enough as an asset for RIM to secure it.
