BlackBerry OS 6.0 on CDMA networks could be delayed till 2011

If you’re on a CDMA network and hope to see BlackBerry OS 6.0 make an appearance, you will have to wait until next year at the very least. It seems that Kaufman Bros. analyst Shaw Wu has poitned out that said OS is currently in the “beta testing” phase, where it ought to ship with its first GSM device (most folks speculate that it is the BlackBerry 9800) before September is over, whereas CDMA devices could very well be three to six months behind. Currently, the only CDMA-based OS 6.0 device known in the US would be the BlackBerry 9670. We do hope that BlackBerry OS 6.0 could very well help RIM regain some of its waning smartphone market share.
