Dell Streak Delayed

Folks who are looking forward to getting hold of the Android-powered Dell Streak might not be too happy to hear that they might have to wait a little longer, as it has been revealed that the device may not arrive in July as originally planned, but will be released later this summer. The pre-order page originally planned for the device to be released today, but it has since been changed to “soon”, which doesn’t sound very specific. Hopefully Dell will be able to sort out whatever issue is preventing it from releasing the Streak on time, and maybe even update the device to Android 2.1/2.2 when it’s launched, instead of the old Android 1.6.

Android: Android is the mobile operating system from Google. The software was originally built by a company called Android Inc, that was purchased by Google in 2005. From its modest debuts, Android has become a powerhouse that powers not only smartphones and tablet, but a host of other less high-profile devices and gadgets. Dell: Dell Inc. is one of largest technology corporations in the world. Michael Dell started the company in 1984, and it sold computers built from stock components. Previously named PCs Limited, the company created the "Turbo PC," the company's first computer. In 1988, the company changed its name to Dell Computer Corporation. Dell sells personal computers, servers, data storage devices, network switches, software, and computer peripherals. Dell acquired computer hardware company Alienware in 2006, and Perot Systems, an information technology services provider, in 2009. Dell is also considered as the third largest PC vendors in the world, next to HP and Lenovo (as of 12/30/2013).
