HP files for PALMPAD trademark

The good people at HP have filed for the PALMPAD trademark earlier this month, which could very well signal the name for the upcoming webOS-powered Slate device. This trademark would place the PALMPAD under a fairly comprehensive list of possible categories including computers, computer hardware, computer software, computer peripherals, portable computers, handheld and mobile computers, PDAs, electronic notepads, and mobile digital electronic devices. It still remains to be seen whether the PALMPAD will roll out before the year is over, but the Q3 launch window as originally anticipated seems to be a wee bit optimistic.
