Kame Robotto turtle robot might be the world's first

Love your robots? The Kame Robotto turtle robot might just be your cup of tea then, being a world’s first. Manufactured by Tokyo-based robot venture Kondo, this robot was originally sold as the first of a series of “animal robots”, so you can bet with your bottom dollar that Kondo will not stop there with more to come in the following months. This turtle robot is rather basic when you think about it, where it was powered by a 10.8V-300mAh Ni-MH “Robo Power Cell” and has just nine joints, with a couple of those in each of its four legs and one in the head. There aren’t too many additional features around, where you will need to purchase a remote control separately. At least this robot kit is easy on your pockets, retailing for $450 when it hits the market in Japan this Thursday. You might be able to import one of these if you happen to live outside of the Land of the Rising Sun.
