Kanguru Solutions has just announced its latest in the Defender line of encrypted flash drives, which is the Kanguru Defender Basic. This flash drive offers useful security features such as 256-bit AES hardware based encryption, limited password attempts, 1-year of free antivirus/malware protection, on-chip password matching, and doesn’t need administrative rights to use. By removing the higher end components of its more expensive products, such as remote management and FIPS 140-2 certification, the Kanguru Defender Basic is able to be attractively priced from $29.95, and will be available in capacities ranging from 2GB up to 128GB.
