MagicJack femtocell misses launch date

The MagicJack femtocell has alerady missed its promised second quarter launch window, which isn’t good news for anyone who is looking forward to having this device in their hands by now. A MagicJack spokesperson claims this was so because it took longer than expected for the software to complete, which indirectly means the device has yet to hit the FCC’s doors for approval. Ultimately, this would mean it isn’t even guaranteed to be released Stateside if it doesn’t pass the FCC’s tests, so keep your fingers crossed for some positive news to start the week off on a high note, MagicJack fans. It seems that the company has cited a two week timetable that should see the software completed by then, but it would still take a few more months before the boffins over at the FCC give their nod of (dis)approval. We are most probably looking at a late 2010 or early 2011 release then.
