
It looks like Microsoft is making a huge push behind its upcoming Windows Phone 7 mobile operating system release, which is due to hit devices and launch by this coming holiday season. After the company has sent out a large number of test hardware to developers and promised that employees worldwide will be getting the handset gratis, Microsoft has just announced that interns working for the company would be able to join the Windows Phone 7 action. Steve Ballmer, in an interview, says that although recruiting doesn’t have the budget to lure and entice quality interns, the CEO does, and Ballmer will be dishing out Windows Phone 7 devices to those lower on the corporate totem pole: “Recruiting doesn’t have the budget, but I do. So, Yes!… Of the interview, Ballmer says that the question about interns and free phones is “the most expensive last question I’ve ever had.”
