Microsoft Kinect works with seated players

Microsoft has clarified the fact that Kinect is more than capable of recognizing a user who is sitting down comfortably on your couch, dispelling fears and myths that you will need to be standing up all the while when you’re playing, nay, flailing your hands around wildly with the Kinect. Of course, we’re not sure to what extent a game’s controls will go to cater for seated exponents of the Kinect, but Microsoft has already lined up several Kinect applications which were developed with a seated user in mind, including navigating the Dashboard as well as using the ESPN, Zune and Video Kinect apps. Good news for couch potatoes, eh?
