Motorola Droid 2 Should Offer Android 2.2 FroYo And MotoBlur

While Verizon still hasn’t officially confirmed the Motorola Droid 2 yet, we more or less already know that it’s on the way, and folks are expecting it to arrive sometime in August. The question that many folks are commonly asking now is what version of Android is it running, and will it have any user interface customizations, such as MotoBlur. Well, some details on this upcoming phone have surfaced, thanks to a person who managed to get some hands on time with the device, and according to him, the Droid 2 will definitely be running Android 2.2 FroYo, and there is even a screenshot (above) to prove it. The device seems to be more responsive to the original Droid, though it wasn’t clear whether it was due to the 1GHz processor, or the use of Android 2.2 (possibly both). Aside from that, the Droid 2 will sport the same MotoBlur skin that is available on the Droid X, and seems to sport the same notification bar. It’ll reportedly offer 5 home screens, which is the same as the current FroYo launcher. Sounds quite interesting, and hopefully Verizon will announce the Droid 2 sooner rather than later.
