Xbox LIVE subscribers have a reason to be happy today, as it has been announced that they will be able to purchase movie tickets via movietickets.com. This move allows Xbox LIVE subscribers to make movie ticket purchases through a text-in or a Microsoft Tag viewed in movie studio advertisements. When the users click on a feature film’s advertisement on Xbox LIVE, they will be able to download and interact with relevant movie content, and activate a Microsoft Tag via their mobile phon, which will direct them to a co-branded site to purchase tickets. How billing will be sorted out wasn’t mentioned, so we will probably have to wait and see if payment will be made via a regular purchase system or directly through the Xbox LIVE account.
