New Meadowlands Stadium to offer instant replays

The recent World Cup in South Africa demonstrated the need for goal line technology to be introduced no thanks to contentious decisions by referees, notably the England vs Germany match that saw Frank Lampard’s goal harshly ruled out. In fact, the replays were played over and over again after that in the stadium but the referee had already made his decision which cannot be retracted. Well, fans of American football will be pleased to know that instant replays during games are now possible at the New Meadowlands Stadium. Both New York Giants and New York Jets fans who attend a home game can download a free smartphone app which lets them watch instant replays, view statistics and live feeds of other games. Too bad this app will work only within the confines of the New Meadowlands Stadium.
