Nintendo 3DS To Sport Tougher Anti piracy Protection

Word is going around that Nintendo is busy tightening the security measures of its upcoming 3DS handheld console in order to protect it against piracy. In a recent interview, THQ executive VP Ian Current commented that the DS market, in particular the DS Lite, has been attacked by piracy, which is quite true, considering the ease of getting hold of pirated games for it. The technology to prevent piracy on the 3DS hasn’t been disclosed, but it’s claimed to be tighter than that of the DSi, which has been quite resistant to cracking attempts so far. It was also mentioned that the cost of creating games in 3D would be higher for developers, so they would obviously want to get a return on investment when they do so.
