An interview with NTT DoCoMo’s president Ryuji Yamada has unveiled a rather interesting bit of news – it seems that Japans’s largest wireless carrier might take the SIM-free route from next year onwards in their handsets, where this move would enable customers to easily switch to and from NTT DoCoMo simply by swapping out a SIM. Thanks to the quality of its network and the availability of unlocked handsets down the road, NTT DoCoMo has high hopes of seeing Softbank subscribers jump over to their side. Will other mobile carriers worldwide follow such a model if they haven’t done so already?
