Just how smart is your kitchen countertop? Well, it definitely can’t be any smarter than the Oasis system, since it boasts a 3D depth-perceiving camera which is capable of sensing exactly the object that you place on it, sporting an array of helpful hints, nutritional information, and recipes to help you churn out something delicious and nutritious thanks to its built-in pico projector. This more or less resembles the Microsoft Surface in some ways, since the Oasis is touch sensitive, where touching a selected area will bring up various functions like a timer or a virtual shopping list. Not only that, it has been programmed to offer recipes which involve two different foods you might place on the counter simultaneously. It won’t appear in our homes anytime soon, so be patient and hopefully by the time your kids get to college, the Oasis will no longer be in its prototype stage.
