Orange UK will be following both T-Mobile and Vodafone in that part of the world by rolling out its own-branded Android-powered phone. Currently going by the moniker “Project PAL”, it could full well (and we expect it to) receive a city name at launch to follow the footsteps of its own-branded standard phones of the past which were known as Boston, Rio, Lisbon and Miami among others. Apparently, Orange Project PAL will run on Android 2.1, where it will be accompanied by Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, GPS navigation support, a 3-megapixel camera and a range of other Orange services support. While we still have no concrete date of when Project PAL will roll out, the chances of Orange offering it on both PAYG and monthly plans are likely without breaking the £150 mark. Seems to resemble one of those HTC smartphones, although you might not like the elevated camera located behind which could cause the lens to be scratched all too easily. Oh yeah, we think Orange could have done better with the megapixel count on the camera, bumping it up to at least 5 to keep up with the times.
