Rolling walkers get electronic braking system

Biomedical engineering students from Cornell managed to come up with a new method to slow down rolling walkers, where an electronic braking system will take over where the traditional bicycle-style squeeze brakes left off. All it needs now would be a gentle touch of a button to release the brakes, and whenever you release the handlebar, the walker will automatically return to the braking position. It took a good 16 years from inception to its current phase simply because of constraints on cost, weight and need for simplicity. It might take a while for those who are too used to regular walkers to be familiar with these newly enhanced walkers.
