Do you remember the recent news that Motorola is discouraging folks from modifying the Droid X’s bootloader? Well, according to the latest word, the company is quite serious when they tell you not to fiddle with it. Reports say that the Droid X sports an eFuse chip which is capable of permanently bricking the phone if the device’s bootloader is tampered with. Apparently if such a thing happens, the only solution is to pay a visit to Motorola itself. If this is true, would it affect the popularity of the Motorola Droid X, since Android phones are generally quite popular with the hacking community?
