Sharp controller allows simultaneous display on two different screens

Sharp has announced another world’s first from the Japanese company – we’re talking about a new controller which enables simultaneous display across two very different screens. Dubbed the Sharp LR388G9 LCD controller chip, it will come with 32 Mbits of built-in video memory, which is double the amount of its predecessor. This results in faster image processing speeds, letting it deliver dual display capability with aplomb as you can enable two different contents to be displayed at the same time on two separate LCD screens at 480 x 1,024 resolution. Not only that, it enables full HD video to be output to an externally connected device such as a LCD TV or video projector. Will future cellphones and portable media players deliver dual-screen display capability with the advent of this new controller?
