Toshiba’s Storage Device Division has announced that they have come up with a new family of 7,200 RPM 2.5-inch SATA drives, making these the first in the industry’s broad line of 7,200 RPM 2.5-inch models which have been specially optimized for demanding performance, power consumption, and durability requirements, be they for high-performance or business-critical applications. The MKxx61GSY will come in various capacities, ranging from 160GB all the way to 640GB, targeting high-end notebooks and gaming laptops.
