Toshiba has come up with some rather cool high-end TVs in the form of the Cell Regza X2 and the Cell Regza Slim XE2. Both units utilize a PS3-derived Cell chip to enhance 3D, being able to upscale standard definition 3D to near HD quality, and even convert some 2D content to 3D by studying the movement of the scene. They also offer 3TB of recording space, and they’re capable of allowing users to jump to the start of a show and enjoy it while it’s in the middle of recording another program. The X2 offers LED backlighting that is capable of offering 9,000,000:1 contrast ratio, along with DLNA media sharing support, and USB support. Both units are nearly identical, but the XE2 sports a thinner body. Both models will be launching in Japan in October, with the X2 available in a 55-inch model, while the XE2 will be available in 55- and 46-inch models.
