There’s some bad news for folks who are patiently waiting for the white iPhone 4, as word is out that the delay for the device is due to the Lens Technology having some trouble getting the right opacity and thickness for the pure white paint that Apple wants on the glass panels. Apparently the factory is still busy working out the right combination of paint thickness and opacity to ensure that the next sub-contractor has enough clearance for the digitizer overlay, while still maintaining the level of white that Apple desires. Considering how important the looks of the iPhone is, hopefully the manufacturer will be able to get it spot on and we’ll see the white iPhone 4 being offered sooner rather than later.
