Windows Phone Live To Offer Remote Wipe And Synchronization

Microsoft has confirmed that there will be a Windows Phone Live website, which will be a companion site for its upcoming Windows Phone 7 (WP7) devices. The service will offer 25GB of SkyDrive online storage space, and will also allow WP7 devices to synchronize their contacts, calendars, OneNote files, pictures and more between their mobile phone and the web. Another useful feature of the site is the Find My Phone service, which will allow users to map, ring, lock, or even remotely wipe the data on their missing phone. Windows Phone 7 is apparently still on track for a global launch in time for the holiday season, which is good news. Hopefully Microsoft’s latest mobile operating system will do a good job of challenging Apple’s iOS and Google’s Android platform.
